Why Volunteer?
Many of our volunteers have been with us for years and tell us it feels great making a positive contribution to their own community. Here’s some little snippets of what they’ve said about their volunteering role with us:
“It’s really helped build up my confidence,
I was so lonely before volunteering, now I meet lots of people, and have made lifelong friends.
I’ve met lots of interesting people from all walks of life.
I’ve learnt so many new skills and feel confident applying for jobs now. I know I’m capable.
I’ve been able to pass on a valuable skill of mine to others.
I feel more accomplished. Like I have a purpose, that’s not my job. Volunteering is something I enjoy, just for me, that I want to do. It’s like a free hobby.
I enjoy helping people. It makes me feel valued.
It’s given me a renewed sense of purpose after my children left home.
I added volunteering to my CV, it made me stand out, from other applicants, and I got the job.”
