Every parent gets it. We appreciate what an expensive time the start of the new school term can be and how much financial pressure this can put on families already overstretched budgets. Children’s uniforms become soiled or damaged and need replacing throughout the school year. Fact.
To support our families, with these problems and costs, we have a specialist Charity Clothes Shop located at 331-335 Laygate, South Shields, NE33 4JB. Next to Chichester Metro.

Our Charity Shop at Chichester Metro stocks FREE School Uniforms from across South Tyneside, both branded and unbranded items, for children of all school ages.
Our charity shop stocks a huge variety of preloved child related items: from pushchairs, to toys, to safety equipment, all available for small donations, as well as regular charity shop household and adult items.
Shelley Andrews is our enthusiastic Lead Shop Volunteer, and original founder of “The Andrews Group” – a group set up to offer FREE school uniforms for children across the Borough. The uniform & charity shop is a key strategic partnership for us, together we are future proofing this vital service for the people of South Tyneside.
We accept donations at any time of the year. The shop is currently open from 9am – 4pm Tuesday to Saturday and relies on a dedicated team of volunteers who assist Shelley.
