Free Sim Cards & Data
Do you struggle to afford your monthly mobile contract sim card and data costs? Are you often left without access to the Internet? Do you feel isolated or lonely? Need help to stay connected?
The government has recognised what a vital lifeline the internet can be for residents in the UK. With over 80pc of the public using smart phones as their main source of communication, they recognise without this vital lifeline people’s independence, mental health, and life prospects can decline quickly. Interaction and communication are key to individuals thriving. So, it is critical, now more than ever, that our most vulnerable residents have access to the internet.
We can supply South Tyneside residents with FREE sim cards for smart phones and broadband for laptops. This will ensure you are able to make calls, text and access the internet without worry. Keeping you connected with friends, family, utilities, and the wider UK. Depending on availability, we can offer a selection of SIMS, from:
- 3 Network: 24 months of mobile broadband 24GB a month – for tablets and laptops
- Vodaphone network: 40GB data, calls, and texts for six months
- O2 network: 25GB of unlimited minutes and texts for twelve months
Our Sim Cards can provide you with a mobile number, and free data, on the above networks. If you are not a new mobile user, and are already registered with a different network, you may be able request a free PAC number from your current provider and give it to your new network, who will then transfer your current mobile number to your new sim.
This is a SELF REFERAL service, meaning, you can apply yourself and don’t need a referral from a local government body or agency. It’s not means tested either; we consider everyone’s circumstance. So, you will need to consider, before you complete the self- referral contact form on this page, why you are struggling and why internet and data is critical to you, as you need to note this on the form?
One of our staff will respond to your request within 1 business day either by phone or email.
Once we confirm you qualify, you must bring a valid form of ID when collecting your SIM card from our Operation Centre at Hampden Street, NE33 4JR.
Please note, we cannot mail sim cards/vouchers, these need to be collected in person by the individual named on the request.
Empowerment and Inclusivity are key values to our Charity. By combatting digital isolation with free sims and data, to residents across South Tyneside we empower our community to be more independent, educated and informed by using the internet to improve their lives, and mental health. Ensuring inclusion and communication in an ever-changing world.
We can make this life changing offer thanks to our Strategic Partnership with the Good Things Foundation, the UK’s leading digital inclusion charity. The Charity’s mission is: to #FixTheDigitalDivide – for good, pressuring our government to take digital exclusion seriously and we’re delighted to join their cause as an official UK Databank provider, meaning we can offer free Data, Sims, calls and texts, without a contract, for those who need it most.
